The AU Review

If you’re after some new coastal acoustic sounds, then look no further! We’ve got the latest from WA singer-songwriter James Abberley, and we’re loving it’s gentle folk-like vibe. “You’re The One” follows on from recent release “Drifting”, and it’s got a passion to it that belies its laidback, easy-listening veneer. It’s a real slow-burn, and a great showcase for Abberley’s tender vocals.

Pilerats

There's a real beauty in music that's able to transport you to another world, especially at a time like now. Someone that understands that - and has the skill set to do that, no less - is West Australian musician James Abberley, who over the last two years, has blossomed into one-to-watch on the west coast.

AAA Backstage

West Australian indie-folk artist James Abberley has returned with a brand new introspective single, You’re The One. It follows on from the well received single, Drifting which was released back in August.

You’re The One is one of the seaside tracks that has you floating along in an almost meditative state. Pure and lush in it’s delivery, it’s a tune that just makes you smile and think of a secluded island. Lyrically however things are a bit deeper than that.

5: Never yell out "SHARK!" unless you are 100 per cent certain. The last thing anyone wants to hear when they're in the water is that word, especially if you live near southern waters as it probably means it's a White Pointer.

Handy tip though: It's definitely the quickest way to the clear the line-up and have the waves to yourself, haha!

My goal is always the same, enjoy your life and love how you spend your days.

Where do we know you from?

Well, I had a minor car accident when I was 19 and there were quite a few people watching. I have been on many forms of public transport over the last ten years, or maybe I've met you in the shopping centre next to the halloumi? If none of the above, you may have heard my music before? I am a singer-songwriter-producer from Margaret River, WA.
